wondering if it might ever be necessary to file a CORA with Dick Wadhams?

CORA is our friend Just to clarify, Rep. Merrifield has not resigned his seat, but has stepped down as the chair of the House Education Committee for the remainder of this legislative session. He cited both his health and the e-mail as reasons.

Also, it would be a bit dramatic to call Colorado's Open Records Act the cornerstone of democracy, but it certainly is an important apparatus to ensure its preservation. Anyone can obtain public documents from government agencies and public officials by filing a request under CORA.

What makes this particular story interesting, at least to me, are the apparent political motivations behind the folks who filed this particular CORA.

And sorry, Zappatero, Dick Wadhams is not a government agency. Or an elected official. Yet.

Colorado's Matt Drudge, for all THAT's worth What's great is that Jones is making the rounds of all the conservative radio talk shows and touting Facethestate a being in the spirt of the Drudge Report. So, essentially he's describing his venture as analogous to an Internet gossip who is notorious for his inaccuracy (http://mediamatters.org/issues_topics/outlets/thedrudgereport) and use of misinformation.

    Good times...
