President Clinton warned about them in his tenure but Detroit didn't listen,and big oil didn't want them to listen,  it was push, push Americans to consume more and more so they could jack the prices higher and higher. Not Americans</title><link>http://www.coloradoindependent.com/4368/who-needs-to-conserve-energy-not-americans/#comment-1679073</link><description>On behalf of the "little people" (you know, the ones about whom Leona Helmsley reportedly said "only the little people pay taxes", but  denied she said it):  I wonder what percent of the energy resources these little taxpayers use, compared to the top few percent of extremely wealthy people in this country? How much gas does a car driven to work consume compared to a private jet that flies around the world for instance? How much energy does a 1500 square foot house use as compared to a 30,000 sq. ft. house?  And how much gas is used getting the gardeners, the cooks, the housekeepers and the chauffeurs and on and on to the 30,000 sq. ft. house compared to the little 1500 sq. foot house where the homeowner does their own maintenance?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Who should do the sacrificing?</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">wildflower</dc:creator><pubDate>Thu, 07 Aug 2008 20:10:50 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
