Freshman Year, the gay marriage episode: Polis versus Chaffetz
That's an indirect donation, which is noted the story.
It's his choice who he gives his money to.
And it's ironic.
If so, he's not only working to dismantle government with a public wage but he's getting a tax break for it too.
However, if Bruce is donating his wages to his own tax-exempt organization formed for the purpose of advancing his personal ideology and political career (and thus a long drink at the publicly-financed trough), it raises serious concerns about the circular hypocrisy of his anti-tax and anti-government positions by which he is personally and professionally benefiting.
I don't work for The Post. Why would I write something for them when Colorado Confidential is perfectly suited to raise this angle, as Cara did in her story here?
...it wouldn't be surprising to see it follow this story too, probably with a nod to Colorado Confidential, as it has given in the past on occasion. It also wouldn't be surprising to see the mainstream media ignore the story as well, given that none of the three major newspapers that reported on Bruce's donation of salary and per diem to "charity" told the full story of who the charity actually is.
On another matter, if this is such a "relatively minor political blogsite" then why do you spend so much time commenting here?
Has the Dougster being of sound legal mind has found a way to avoid paying taxes, get tax credit for donating his "hard earned" salary and then somehow continue to reap the benefit for himself and fellow neocons? I am not free to dig deeper, but is there a means to obtain a record of what his "organization" spends their money on? Has our fair city's premier slumlord found another way to rob the system for his benefit? Please continue to dig, please let me lend you my shovel. Thanks for keeping him special.
