  That being said I say cut the kid some slack.
  
  Sister Schmeling is on the right track, teach him responsibility for his actions and respect for others.
  
  Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Schaffer, but it's a little late for "firm and severe discipline". What does that mean anyway, taking the rod to him? Grounding him? Making him write sentences? We're talking college student here for Pete's sake.
  
  Spare the rod and take away his HOT ROD if you want some respect.

  So now it's illegal to mock Obama? Are these people insane? There is NO STORY HERE exept that your not allowed to post negative/silly funny stuff on your myface page.
  The concept that the liberal insane left is pushing is nothing short of RELIGION, Thou shalt not mock thye darkly colored skin people, for they are your unequal in being, and need a leg up. Thou shalt not mock the great Obama, for he is king unto thee. Thou shalt face severest of disipline if thou shalt violate this of greatest multi-cultist commandment.
  
  This is so far into George Orwellianism its not funny any more.

  Kingtut... you don't see anything unusual about a college student having a picture of Jesus holding an automatic rifle standing in front of a flag with the words " What Would Republican Jesus Do?"
  
  Hello.....there have been mass shootings in colleges and high schools, last week a mass shooting in Tennesee in a church because the shooter thought they were "liberals"...
  
  The more I digest this, I think I may have been wrong saying to cut the kid some slack.
  
  I'm reminded of a Sinclair Lewis quote:
  
  "When facism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross".

  I don't know anything about the University of Dayton, but isn't the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) expected to have standards of character in place for its taxpayer-funded scholarship students? Even those not yet on scholarship should be screened meticulously for character and integrity. What happened here? A well-connected jerk son of a politico got in with no screening? That's the shame, it's not censorship just judgment, or lack thereof.

  If I remember correctly the age of majority is 18 in this state. It would somehow seem that Justin is gonna have to face his actions by himself.
  
  
  
  I saw the crap that he had posted and it simply disgusts me. He obviously knew better and being the son of a possible (doubtful) senate candidate he also knew that his actions would have consequences.
  
  
  
  He ignored it and so it is time for sonny boy to face the music.
  
  
  
  Mom and dad cannot really do much more than cancel the family credit card and boot the punk kid outta the house.

  After viewing the kid's website, if this kid is in any way indicative of those highly touted "Schaffer Family Values", I think our country can do without them.
  
  Those "Schaffer Family Values" may be about as phony as a two dollar bill, or a picture of Mt. McKinley purporting to be Pikes Peak.

  Just because I've never seen one doesn't mean it's not so, according to Wikipedia it's 1% of the money.( probably in collectors' cache?)

  When did a slogan saying "slavery gets s*** done" qualify as funny! It makes me sad that a 19 yearold would in 2008 would think this is ok. The Schaffers should be ashamed that they raised a son who thinks this way!
  
  
  
  Free speech...yada yada, but really people it's time to move on. People who make racist comments and have these attitudes need to catch up with the times. If you still life your life in this way then move to the south and join the KKK and get out of the sight of normal people trying to live their lives and live the AMERICAN DREAM (which was by the way built on the backs of slaves)
