It seems to me that the greatest health savings will be to insurance companies that would be able to model risk at the individual level and screw us over accordingly. "I see here that you had measles as a child and once had a prescription for a sleep aid... sorry, we can't cover treatment for cancer or alzheimers in that case"
The simplest route to expand health insurance and make care more affordable (for both patient and insurer) is to abandon the disease model of health care and move toward a wellness-prevention schema.
There are far too many monetary incentives that perpetuate the vicious cycle of the multi-trillion dollar illness, treatment, rehab and pharmacology industries.
