Abstractartgirl, I share the concern you alluded to at the end of your post. Even if McCain's recent forgetfulness is only from tiredness or whatever, the possibility that he might come down with Alzheimer's or dementia in the course of his holding office is frightening. Here's where he should really put the country's interests above political interests and have a thorough physical and mental exam with the results known to us, his employers, just like pilots, policemen, and anyone whose job involves direct responsibilities for the safety and security of others. I do not care if a candidate is a war hero, I do not care is a candidate is a republican or a democrat. I do not care if a candidate is black or white. All I care about is the candidate intelligent enough to get this nation out of the mess we are in now.

I am an Arizona Republican but I will not be voting for John McCain. Why? Because, with the problems in the US and the world is facing today the nation needs intelligence in the White House.

Lets see my choice is John McCain or that smart black man Barack Obama?

McCain who does not know how to use a computer but is willing to learn if we elect him – I’ll just vote for that smart black man.

My Choices are: John McCain who says the economic downturn is psychological? - Na! I'll vote for the smart black man.

McCain who says you are better off under George Bush? - Nope I'll vote for the smart black man.

Mc Cain who wants to continue killing more people looking for weapons of mass destruction that do not exist? - Gee! I'll vote for the smart black man.

McCain who believes that we should stay the course but is not willing to support the people he puts in harms way. - I'll take a chance on the smart black man.

Should I vote for a man that does not know that 9-11 was caused by Osama Bin Laden not Sedam Hussein? - Easy! I'll vote for the smart black man.

Vote for the man who does not know if the Sunnis or Sheits are our enemies? - No way I'll vote for the smart black man.

Vote for the man who helped put our government on the China, Saudi Arabia credit card? - Not a chance I'll vote for the smart black man.

A war hero? He was a prisoner of war as we have heard a million times. John Kerry was a real hero, with real medals and the courage to dissent. That's a hero. McCain will not even released his medical records to the public. Only selected reporters have seen them and then they had 3 hours to read over a thousand pages. He apparently has no problem flip floping his way through this election. He should be call whip-lash because that's what you get trying to watch him. Oh yes and he has to postpone the debate. Whip lash McSame.

John McHero is not my hero. "My father & uncle (WW2 POW) are my heros, because they spent 6 years in the military during WW2 fighting for our freedom". My uncle never once pounded his chest about his time as a POW. In fact, while he was alive, we could never get him to tell us about WW2 (same for my father).

So heroboy, go to Mississippi Friday and take a wooping for the good-ole-RedWhite&Blue.

McCain doesn't want to engage in the debate because he hasn't been preparing. He was going to put it off until today and tomorrow anyways. He's like the kid who didn't do his project when he had plenty of time, and now the teacher is being asked to let him turn it in late. I learned years ago that this kind of tactic doesn't fly.

Now he wants to be seen as the one who is putting the financial crisis first, but he's admitted he doesn't know much about the economy, so what good does it do anyone for him to be in Washington, chipping in his two cents? Perhaps it's like getting a doctor's note to be allowed to skip class on the day the project is due. Only he's not sick. The last thing we need in our next president is avoidance of pivotal moments.

The financial crisis is pivotal, I know, but we've got more than enough people working on it with more understanding of the issues involved. The election is of the utmost importance, as it will determine how all American issues, both foreign and domestic, are handled for the next four years, setting the stage for the future.

Go ahead and skip the debate, McCain. Obama can just address the nation by himself, and we'll know who our next leader will be.
