It's not the sons and daughters of the wealthy elite, their children are safe elsewhere. The soldiers are just so many disposable pieces of human beings to the war makers sitting behind their desks. They hold out a carrot, a better job or an education to the children of the poor to get them to enlist. But they don't give one hoot about them after they are used.
