Getting back to the theme of this post, I think the concept of a local network of national security think tanks is quite interesting.

Though it remains to be seen whether this is simply a fund raising/membership recruitment ploy or a genuine tactic to engage local citizenry in foreign policy and defense

At Unbossed, we posted Drug Warriors Take Aim at the Planet, an investigative series on the use of mycoherbicides to kill coca and opium poppy crops.

Nasty stuff, all done at the behest of the U.S. government on indigenous people suffering unspeakable poverty and caught in the midst of the failed drug war.

But that's not all...

Rand Beers also played a central role in a poisonous aerial crop fumigation program used by the U.S. in Colombia that targeted poor communities all in the name of fighting the drug war and killing coca crops. Maybe someone should ask him about that....
