The Colorado Independent: National Political Insiders Talk up Colorado as a “New Blue State in the West”

  • Leslie Robinson · 2 years ago
Over the divide.... On the Western Slope, counties of Eagle, Gunnison, Routt, Garfield and LaPlata have recently gone from red to purplish blue. Definitely the Unaffiliated are the majority "party."

However in Rio Blanco County (Meeker/Rangeley) even the sheep are registered Republicans.

Wishful thinking As much as I'd like to say it's so, two elections does not a reversal make.

If Dems betray the trust of the people, it will shift back quicker than you can say "1994."

If you want data I have sorts of the registration data by year in Excel instead of in pdf, if you would need it.

Since I already know, I won't ruin your research.

Wishful Thinking? As a committed Democrat, I hate to agree with this, but I do. A pendulum swing in the face of a divisive war will not hold ground, Democrats have to remember where they came from and where thier ancestors came from.  There are many reasons, but one being the fact that so many DEMS are

alienating labor unions.  Keep doing that and the party will be lost with the struggle.
