    This summer, the hills won't be alive with the sound of music It's been in the high 70's for over a week with very warm temperatures on the Western Slope since the first of March. Snow packs are now below average and ski season may be cut short.


    Already locals are identifying signs that indicate a bad fire season. All one has to do is see all the pine beetle kill forests in Summit and Eagle and know that once a fire starts, it will be disasterous.


    If any one is in doubt about the effects of global warming, come up up to the Western Slope this July.
