Reporter Sridhar Pappu of our sister site the Washington Independent has been traveling with the McCain campaign all week. Check out his analysis detailing McCain's Denver appearance today, in which, as Pappu notes, the candidate delivered his harshest remarks about Obama to date. Here's a sampling; the full piece can be read at:

DENVER--If we will remember this week as Sen. Barack Obama's international debut, we might remember it also as the week that Sen. John McCain, the war hero, the cancer survivor, the man who broke ranks with his party to get things accomplished in Washington, changed the course of the campaign in a newly divisive way.

It began simply enough. He started the week by attacking Obama for his lack of foreign policy experience. Then he attacked the Illinois Senator's total lack of service on the battlefield. By midweek, he had begun, in harsh tones to imply that Obama would rather lose a war than an election ...

... In many ways it was a culmination of sorts of both McCain's anger and the lost opportunities he had while Obama made his way across the globe...

Day by day, John McCain is exposing himself as the angry old warrior living in the past and seeing War as the only solution to foriegn policy. All the while, Obama is emerging as an international leader and thoughtful agent for progress. I hope Americans will heed the enthusiasm of the rest of world and recognize what a President Obama could mean to this country both domestically and abroad. McCain truly is more of Bush Jr., whether it is endless War, caving in to big oil, tax cuts for the rich that will rob our infrastructure, privatizing social security and more people without jobs or healthcare. This is a generational election.
