There are clearly stark differences between the way Obama and McCain see the future, especially as it relates to energy extraction, production and the environmental consequences thereof. Obama sees the threats facing not only the nation but the planet, and the lens he views these challenges through makes clear he intends to steer us hard away from the dangerous carbon-based economy of today.
