I see that Ernest Lunning does not recognize a sexist comment when he hears and sees it. Don't worry Mr. Lunning women know it when they hear it and thankfully so does John McCain. Obama has proved that he doesn't understand sexism especially since he practices it. Here is on current example:

According to the Seattle Post Intelligencer OpEd piece:
“Now is the time to keep the promise of equal pay for an equal day’s work,” Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama said Aug. 28 in his convention acceptance speech. He told the crowd in Denver: “I want my daughters to have exactly the same opportunities as your sons.”
Obama’s campaign website is even more specific. Under the heading “Fighting for Pay Equity,” the women’s issues page laments that, “Despite decades of progress, women still make only 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. A recent study estimates it will take another 47 years for women to close the wage gap with men at Fortune 500 corporate offices. Barack Obama believes the government needs to take steps to better enforce the Equal Pay Act…”
Obama’s commitment to federally mandated pay equity stretches from the Rockies to Wall Street and beyond. And yet it seems to have eluded his Senate office. Compensation figures for his legislative staff reveal that Obama pays women just 83 cents for every dollar his men make.

Again, on average, Obama’s female staffers earn just 83 cents for every dollar his male staffers make. This figure certainly exceeds the 77-cent threshold that Obama’s campaign website condemns. However, 83 cents do not equal $1. In spite of this 17-cent gap between Obama’s rhetoric and reality, he chose to chide GOP presidential contender John McCain on this issue.

Obama’s criticism notwithstanding, McCain’s payment patterns are the stuff of feminist dreams.
McCain’s 17 male staffers split $916,914, thus averaging $53,936. His 25 female employees divided $1,396,958 and averaged $55,878.
On average, according to these data, women in John McCain’s office make $1.04 for every dollar a man makes. In fact, all other things being equal, a typical female staffer could earn 21 cents more per dollar paid to her male counterpart — while adding $10,726 to her annual income — by leaving Barack Obama’s office and going to work for John McCain.

In short, these statistics suggest that John McCain is more than fair with his female employees, while Barack Obama — at the expense of the women who work for him — quietly perpetuates the very same pay-equity divide that he loudly denounces. Of all people, the Democratic standard bearer should understand that equal pay begins at home.

After studying Obama for over a year I know he does not stand by anything he says unless it benefits him. Sadly I found nothing in his present or past that shows me any hope for change. As it is said "Know Obama, No Obama."

I'm sorry to see that Ernest Lunning does not see, hear, and chooses to repeat sexism. Don't worry Mr. Lunning women know it when we see it and thankfully John McCain does too. Obama has shown he doesn't get sexism especially since he practices it. Here is a current instance that sums up the hypocrisy that Obama practices on a daily basis.

Obama may sound good at times but it depends on what time it is and what is involved in it for him. I studied him for a year and a half and I know he never stands by anything he says. I can truthfully say "Know Obama, No Obaman."

When would they stop this meaningless fires and refocus on the contents of the subject??? It's about leadership for a country, not a movement for equal rights of women. (I say this as a woman.)

They said this or not? Whatever, but these are all true! See her interview, she pretended so hard to be something she is not, by using all the fisting gestures and the apparently firm tone. Normal people do use it, but only when you deliberately shaping an illusive image, you use it so much.

McCain, shame on you that you put the stake of the whole country on playing power game. Palin, if you are really a strong woman, be yourself and tell people what exactly you think rather than being trained to be a follower.

One thing that should be noted re the manner the candidates would operate if they're elected:
McCain spouts off before thinking, which would probably get us in a war with the whole world, and he also goes whichever way the Bush wind blows. Palin also shoots from the hip with her limited experience and knowledge. Both think they know everything and , arrogantly, will not feel the need to consult with experts.

Obama has already said he will consult with Joe Biden, Clinton, and others, including across political lines, to draw on their long experience in matters of importance.
Who do you want for president, someone who will mouth off, act alone, and damn the consequences,to the rest of us, or someone who will consult with experts before acting?
In other words, do you want a president and vice-president who can THINK or do you want someone who shoots off their mouth, nukes and moose guns before thinking?
I'd much rather have the THINKING people in charge of my children's future, thank you.

Obama accuses McCain/Palin of attacking his record … what record? Obama is an empty suit who hasn’t done anything. That’s why instead of running on his record, he has to run a campaign based upon attacking McCain/Palin. Obama’s tactic has always been ‘the best defense is a good offense’. For example, Obama will make the pig/lipstick smear, just days after Palin scores points with the ‘pitbull/lipstick statement … then he disingenuously acts as if there’s no connection. He did it again with Palin’s community organizer is similar to a mayor, but with out the responsibility … which everyone knows was Palin’s response to Obama demeaning her experience as a small town mayor. There’s nothing wrong with being a community organizer, but being a community organizer is certainly not credentials for becoming President of the United States! Obama has done this, as well as playing the race card numerous times. The changes Obama wants would dramatically weaken this country, in terms of our economy and our national defense.

The Republican Ministry of Slime and Propaganda is playing the 2008 version of Emmitt Till. Instead of "whistling" the accusation is "disrespecting" a white woman. The aims are the same: destruction politically, instead of physically. An almost clever attempt to reach that now hidden, but very alive, ugly little racist impulse in many Americans. This Rovian tactic must be met with thoughtful ferocity. These people are a danger to American liberties and would make Joseph Goebbels (Nazi party...WWII era) envious at their improvement of the old techniques. I used to have admiration for John McCain and even thought he might be viable; I was deluded. He has dishonored himself by "approving" his campaign messages. A new dispicable low in politics in the USA. He and his party care only about winning the power over people and will do anything to get it. His reckless fighter jock strategy: turn to the Far Right and launch. Honor be damned. Your are a War Hero monument to be sure, but not fit to lead even with your VP gambit.

Actions do speak loud and clear, and that is why Obama has tried keep this contest about issues and not engage in such silly name calling and divisive mud slinging. McCain on the other hand (whom I voted for in the 2000 primary) has given up any claim to be a unite-r, or a maverick., or honorable about politics. Truth matters.

If McCain really was honorable, he could step up at any time, and tell his supporter, and the GOP echo chamber to stop the racist, mocking, personal attacks, bu t no. John McCain is MIA.

I wish we could go back to the issues too, but the GOP propaganda machine has unleashed the greatest disinformation campaign since the invasion of Iraq. Notice how even Palin came so close to repeating the Bush/Cheney lie that Iraq was behind the 9/11 attacks. This election has now become about the GOP's use of lies, distortion and deception to mislead the public.

Why do states prosecute car dealers for deceptive ads, but let Swift Boat style lies go unpunished?

whether lying or not Sarah Palin's position on many big issues has dramatically changed since she was nominated as vice presidential candidate. She said the war in Iraq was a holy war, now she has backed off from that position. She said global warmi ng was a falicy and not in part the result of human activity polutting the environments, now she has backed off from that position. She is being investigated by a grand jury in Alaska, btu has decided to fight supeonas designed to get at the truth after she called for ethics reform in Washington. All I can say is will the real Sarah Palin please stand up.

To me this is exactly the dishonesty in government we want to change, and Sarah Palin is an emblem of what's wrong with Washington, exteeme opions and dishonesty.
