    Law school is hard and Caplis is not a dumb guy So why would he make such a dumb statement?

    And 33 percent is even more different than 70 percent... Interesting to note that Caplis also did not cite the CDC figures that show the actual rate was 33 percent (based on more than 854,000 abortions reported to CDC in 2002, vs. the 10,000-person sampling used to extrapolate the 43 percent figure in the Guttmacher Institute study).

    thanks for the follow-up One would think that, as a lawyer with 20 years of experience, Caplis would have a little more concern for accuracy and truth. I can't imagine fudging numbers to fit a meme - as he did in this particular broadcast - would be too well received by a judge or jury.


    Does he have flexible ethical principles that are casually applied in one of his professions but not the other?
