Clearly, this is such an over the top caricature that anyone who is offended by it is just looking for something to get offended by. Lighten up and listen to the message. Didn't anyone ever watch the Carol Burnett Show?

Re: Light-Hearted Videos Show Funding Shortfalls in Schools

Granny with osteoporosis Agreed, we always need money for schools.

But there's nothing humorous about osteoporosis. It's back and neck pain, eventually a fall and a broken hip or leg or pelvis and death within a year of the fall.A bone can snap just yawning. The bones do not heal.My aunt who had osteoporosis died in a nursing home last year after she fell and broke her pelvis, within days of the fall. My grandmother died at 96 after years of the pain and a backbrace and was in a wheel chair the last years of her life.

I have a very elderly neighbor who is stooped like that, it won't be long until she will have to have full time care. No, it isn't funny, at least to me.

Re: Light-Hearted Videos Show Funding Shortfalls in Schools

But it's so over the top! I have to disagree that this video is some sort of insult to all seniors. I have a hard time looking at this video and thinking "they believe older people are doddering fools." This granny is such a caricature that, for me, it takes it out of the realm of reality.

And, by the way, I think it's appalling that we spend that much less than the national average.

Re: Light-Hearted Videos Show Funding Shortfalls in Schools

Insulting Granny video If this video was intended to get seniors to open up the old check book for schools, they better think again.

What an insult this video of a stooped-over, addled granny will be to grannies everywhere. Most are mentally astute, physically fit, take meds so they won't get osteoporosis, wouldn't be caught dead in a headscarf, don't have gray hair, they wear blue jeans like everybody else, and probably know more about where their tax dollars go than younger people.
