The Colorado Independent: Is Colorado patriotic enough for Palin?

She manages to always put her foot in her mouth. I'm guilty of the same, but eesh!

I think the reaction to this comment (not just here, but everywhere) is overblown. I don't see why "very patriotic" is equated with "more patriotic". Furthermore, she said "the best" of American can be found in small towns and goes on to talk about not just patriotism but also kindness, goodness, courage, factories, teaching and farming. It seems to me that she thinks "the best" of America encompasses a variety of ideals, not just patriotism. Just because "the best" and "very patriotic" appeared in the same sentence doesn't mean they are the only related ideas in the quote. And finally, her first sentence contradicts the assertion that she thinks "the best" - however it's interpreted - exists solely in small towns: "We believe the best of America is not all in Washington..." While a small word, "all" does play a role in the English language. Here, it indicates that she thinks the best exists in D.C. AS WELL AS the small towns. If she thinks it can exist in Washington, I contend that she believes it exists in other large cities.

    The worst VP candidate ever

I'm sorry....you can take her remarks as "innocent." But how innocent is the campaign, is this party, when they deliver these speeches. Don't you think that every day these candidates are meeting behind closed doors with their staff, going over what to say, what to emphasize. I mean they do this stuff 24/7. Taken in that context, I don't think anything they say has NOT been tested, and run over many times, before it's said..

I find this woman to be a manipulative, manipulative person.
