The Colorado Independent: Grand Junction Ballot Proposal Protects Watershed from Drilling Impacts

  • Leslie Robinson · 3 years ago
Palisade joins watershed fight Officials and residents of the Town of Palisade are not holding back from voicing their concerns about drilling in their watershed either. In today's (July 17) Denver Post story, it notes that Palisade is home to 18 wineries, a brewery and a distillery which are all reliant on clean water.

Thus, should a drilling accident contaminate Palisade's water source, it would be a blow to their economy as well as affect their drinking supply.

How would or could a drilling company come up with the funds to pay out damages should that happen? The answer is, "they couldn't."

That's the bottom line of this drilling in community watersheds debate.
