Clergy on the subject. The Grand Junction Sentinel quotes two clergymen on Rowland's statements.

The Rev. Mike Burr of Koinonia Church said Rowland and Beauprez were perpetuating "misconceptions people have about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender families."

Homosexuality isn't "an alternative lifestyle. It's not something people choose," Burr said. "It's a good gift given by God."

The Rev. Michael Torphy of Global Heart Spiritual Center said Rowland was divisive.

"We need to embrace people's choices and embrace love," Torphy said.
