The Colorado Independent: Feds Not Happy With Amendment 44

  • Wendy Norris · 3 years ago
excellent sleuthing Why do you think the feds are investing so much time and manpower on a state issue?

With such a reactionary Republican-controlled Congress one would think it would be fairly easy to advance expanded federal laws govering possession of marijuana. It's not like the GOP wouldn't love to change the topic right now with the on-going scandals in Washington, DC, horrific daily news coming out of Iraq and Afghanistan and the president's flagging poll numbers.

Like Other State vs. Federal Issues I think this will eventually come down to the way Congress has traditionally gotten the states to fall into line: They will come up with some federal funding hang over Colorado and  Nevada and withhold like doggie treats if these laws are passed by the voters.

Prop 44 It's to bad that America hasn't woken up yet to this absurd war on drugs. All it is is a tactic by the federal government to impose militaristic terrorism on Americans.
How long now have they been fighting the war on drugs? 40 years? 50 years? And what have they accomplished besides invading Americans privacy and crap on their civil rights?

If they would have legalized marijuana 50 years ago the American tax payer would have saved billions of tax dollars that the federal government has used to intimidate its own people and throw non violent people in prison for longer time than some baby rapers get.

Now we are coming to a time in the history of the planet where we are starting to run out of natural resources and hemp is one of the best, fastest growing crops in the world for fiber, food, and oil.

When will America wake up to the scam that the federal government is pulling on them!

    War on drugs ChoDilly,

I agree. because of the war on drugs the US now has the highest prison population in the world.

I thought we were supposed to be the land of the free?
