The Colorado Independent: Dick Lamm, The Pioneer Fund, and Defend Colorado Now

Hoes does Lamm explain this? Your information seems pretty damning considering the long and not-so-storied histories of the groups funding Defend Colorado Now.

How could a reasonable person not infer a connection between the well-known agendas of these hate groups and Lamm's willingness to accept money from them to support his all-consuming personal anti-immigration crusade?

Lamm Spewing Hatred in Vail, Colorado Monday July 24 Thanks Erin for the timely information. I just received and email that Dick Lamm will be speaking to the Vail Symposium.
"Tackling the controversial subject of our country's racial divide, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm urges minorities to take partial responsibility for their destiny and strive to overcome the growing economic, educational, and employment gaps in our society. Without discounting the challenges and uneven playing field that minorities face, Lamm notes that certain groups have excelled against the odds because of their education-oriented, self-empowering cultures. " (http://www.vailsymposium.org/).

There is more information on the web that includes
"In his new book, Two Wands, One Nation: An Essay on Race and Community in America , Lamm boldly confronts the issues of minority immigration and underperformance. Based on a letter that University of Denver viewed as "too controversial" to publish, Lamm's essay takes a position that a number of Hispanic and African-American leaders and scholars have endorsed, but that many in the mainstream fear to voice."

Hmmm. I wonder why. Sounds to me like the results of the 'bogus scientific studies' mentioned in your column. I will be attending and bring your information with me. If there is more information I should take with me to present, or questions I should pose, please post here or forward to me. I am going to call a TV producer friend to join me with a camera. Anyone care to join us?

Greenchiledem I think you should ask him these: why, after getting flack for receiving the Pioneer money at FAIR, did you later accept money from them in 2002 while on the advisory board for CAPS?

Do you think the Pioneer Fund is a racist organization? Why or why not? What is your response to the Center For New Community's report? What do you have to say about the SPLC and its allegations that on of your funders--John Tanton--is working directly with white supremacists? What about the accusation that your associate, Fred Elbel, has worked with white nationalists?

I should also mention, that Lamm has written for Tanton's Social Contract Press (SCP), and that FAIR was founded by Tanton.

So I would ask Lamm why he wrote a paper for SCP? Did he know that the editor, Wayne Lutton, has direct links to white supremacists?
