I wondered the same thing as Carol, as I don't usually read CI stories starting on the front page -- usually it's via an RSS reader or through the Most Popular or Recent Articles By links.

Can you just run the lede twice, then it'll pick up the second occurrence on the actual story page?

Thanks for pointing that out, Ernest. Our new system doesn't transfer the front page graph over to the story, but it is on the front page.

So yes, Carol, that basic information is in JC's lede. We're trying to figure out a way to ensure the beginning graphs are transferred onto our stories, particularly as they move from the front page into the archives.

Apparently the front page paragraphs aren't showing up on the actual story.

Here's what JC wrote to start her story:

Who Coffman? Where Coffman? Why Coffman? What party, Coffman? Are we supposed to divine these things?
