Untruths Jonathan Bartha is known for spreading false rumors about candidates.

Whatever you may feel about Mr. and Mrs. Bartha's politics, Mr. Lamborn appears to be having an "Alberto Gonzales" moment with respect to his recall of these two gifts.

Nice smear! Great job trying to smear someone without any documentation!  Good on you.  Just attack the character of the guy who speaks the truth and it will get you off the hook.

Jonathan and Anna Bartha are decent people who used public records to hold a politician accountable.  That is what people in a democracy are supposed to do.

You say that the Barthas spread false rumors about candidates.  Newsflash buba: what the Bartha's said was true and is backed up by public records.  Lamborn did not return the donation until AFTER they sent the letter out.

Finally, if Lamborn were so squeaky clean, why did he threaten the Barthas?  He is a US Congressman who just threatened a constituent.  Can you say two years and out?  He will serve 730 days and leave in disgrace.

check out coloradostatesman.com for latest scoop For the real scoop check out the Colorado Statesman - this story is much worse than lamborn's "gambling" contributions and on par with dog fighting. Now he's threatened the Barthas - check it out!

Doug Lamborn has invited the inquisition into his gambling connections. Let his wish be granted. He has asked for Garcia to investigate!  Dumb move on Lamborn's part.

But, this is how Lamborn is "lying" while figuratively telling the truth  in  Lamborn's denial  that he has never accepted a contribution from a COMPANY.  He didn't say he hadn't accepted a contribution from an INDIVIDUAL who was the manager of a casino.  Marc Murphy is an INDIVIDUAL, not a COMPANY.  But, in the candidate's forum, he clearly acknoweldged Marc Murphy is in the gambling industry and he justified accepting Murphy's money.  Marc Murphy didn't want to see any expansion of competition by any expansion of the gambling business and that was good enough reason for Lamborn to take his money.  Lamborn is as dirty as he says he not on taking gambling donations.  He just is parsing words on "Company" and "individual" in his "I've never accepted" denial.

"Brother and Sister in Christ." Geez, these corrupt Republicans loooove falling back on religion as they rob, steal, and lie all the way to the bank.

Amen. Seriously, let these scum bag thieves and traitors eat their own while the rest of us try to get this country back in shape after years of moral and fiscal bankruptcy at home and military adventures and failed diplomacy abroad.

Props to Colorado Confidential! for covering this story.  Our beloved Gazette has given it minimal coverage in today's edition.  I imagine they would've omitted it all together if it hadn't gone out on the AP and wasn't all over the blogosphere.  Too busy laying the groundwork for a war with Iran.

    Many thanks.  Keep it up.

Check the Records again He didn't just accept donations from an individual.  If you look at the FEC records, IGT is definitely on there.

Here is a link to the list of donors, search for IGT on it:

Also, Wendy Norris posted a copy of actual documents for the donations.  It is pretty clear that Lamborn is doing far more than simply stretching the truth.

Incredible "And like I said I'd rather resolve this on a Scriptural level"

I don't know if he is referring to plaguing them with locusts or merely preaching at them... and I'm not sure which is worse either. One thing can be said, however, he certainly lacks tact.

Don't Have A Dog In This Fight (Sorry!) I'm an observer in Oregon but I'd like to offer The Honorable (sic) Congressman Doug Lamborn a suggestion. Perhaps he could ask that an  imprecatory prayer be offered in the names of Jonathan and Anna Bartha.

In doing so, he could accomplish his desire to "resolve on the Scriptural level" the matter he finds himself so troubled by and avoid responsibility for the result (it's what Republicans of his ilk do so well!).

Pastor Wiley Drake would be proud.
