A link to Luis Toro's story on HB1023 might add to your story for those unfamiliar with the new Colorado laws.  I am glad that Mrs. Smith's story has a happy ending. You have uncovered many issues here. The Immigration office should at least ring a bell when someone gets their citizenship!
